Vindman seeks the honor of retiring as a Colonel, a distinction that was stolen from him by Donald Trump, and can be restored by President Biden.

Vindman and his brother showed courage and integrity when they blew the whistle on Trump. He deserves to retire with the rank that he has so well earned. Join Daily Kos and Lawyers Defending American Democracy in urging Biden to make this right.

Read more about Vindman's courage and integrity below.
Jack, in 2019, Army Col. Yevgeny “Eugene” Vindman and his twin brother Alexander blew the whistle on Donald Trump’s infamous phone call to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Their act of courage led to Trump’s first impeachment trial. It also put them on Trump's enemies list. His retaliatory actions against the Vindman brothers proved detrimental for the remainder of their careers.

Both brothers were escorted out of the White House after Senate Republicans acquitted Trump. When their promotions were delayed, Alexander retired. Eugene continued working, enduring repeated retaliatory attacks, despite his exemplary record.

Eugene Vindman will officially retire on August 31, just a year after being promoted to colonel. You need to serve three years as colonel to retire with that title, something Trump’s temper tantrum denied him. Retiring as a full colonel has no effect on Vindman's pension for a 25-year career. It would simply recognize his extraordinary act of courage and service to our nation. President Biden can waive the condition and grant Vindman the honor and recognition he is due.

Courage and integrity should be rewarded and celebrated, not punished. Vindman upheld his oath to support and defend the Constitution at great personal cost. Urge President Biden to make it right.
