Before the primary, Republicans launched a desperate and last-minute scramble to make sure Young Kim made it to the General Election. According to NBC, that "rescue mission" made
CA-40 one of the top three districts in the country where McCarthy's super PAC has spent the most money.
This same super PAC that spent millions getting Kim through the primary is gearing up to spend even more in the general election. They've announced $37 million for ads in races like ours. So far, they have committed more than $500,000 for TV attack ads against us before November.
We got a preview of how nasty their smear campaigns can get when they spread lies about a marine vet to ensure Kim’s spot on the ballot. We expect more of the same vicious ads to come our way.
The good news is our campaign has already launched our outreach program to turn out as many Democrats as possible. We’re also preparing mailers, digital ads, and TV buys to counter these negative attacks, but we need to move quickly:
