We Urgently Need 11 Donors Right Away To Unlock $5,000

For decades, birds have been warning us about the dire consequences of climate change. And when the Supreme Court limited the EPA's ability to respond to real and urgent threats, we knew we needed to redouble our efforts to protect birds—and fast.

We must take immediate action to protect climate-vulnerable birds like the Scarlet Tanager before it’s too late. Will you be one of the 11 new monthly donors we’re counting on to join us before midnight tomorrow while, thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift will help unlock an additional $5,000 to safeguard the birds you love? North America has lost over 3 billion birds in less than one human lifetime—and right now, two-thirds of those that remain are at increasing risk of extinction from climate change. For migratory birds like the Scarlet Tanager who are especially vulnerable to habitat loss, fire weather, spring heat waves, drought, and urbanization, time is of the essence.

That’s why we’re counting on 11 supporters to start a monthly donation today to help unlock $5,000 more to protect birds and their habitats. So please, make your dependable monthly gift today. Your support is the help birds need right now. ([link removed])

Here’s the good news: earlier this month, the Inflation Reduction Act was signed into law, making it the largest-ever investment to tackle climate change, with roughly $370 billion dedicated to curbing harmful emissions and promoting green technology. This is a huge win for birds and for people—and it’s proof of the power we have when we raise our voices together on behalf of birds.

But this is just the beginning. Audubon is ready and uniquely built to ensure the maximum benefits for birds, and people, through the Inflation Reduction Act. There will be opportunities for us to get involved at the state and local levels, to be a voice for birds and communities in all of the decisions for which conservation projects are implemented and how.

Our work isn’t nearly over, but we’re all in this together. And your gift today will redouble those efforts to provide a safer future for birds and the places we all depend on. ([link removed])

Thank you for your tireless efforts. We couldn’t do this without you.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
