Summer is coming to a close and we’re 11 weeks out from Election Day. This is a critical point in the cycle as campaigns ramp up voter outreach, races get more competitive, and ballots land in Marylanders’ mailboxes soon.
Voters will soon decide who will represent us in Congress and those leaders will in turn decide what we do about the challenges facing us.
And the challenges are big. In recent months, we’ve seen mass shootings devastate communities across the country, rollbacks to our rights that were previously unthinkable, threats to our elections and democracy, and high prices.
I know these things are weighing on Marylanders, and whatever is weighing on you is something I want to hear about. Will you take a second to complete our survey and tell me the biggest issue on your mind as we head into the election?
I’m focused on solutions -- not partisan politics.
That’s why I recently voted for the Inflation Reduction Act, historic legislation that will reduce the cost of prescription drugs for people on Medicare, pave the way for more affordable insurance options on the health exchange, and require corporations pay their fair share.
This bill also represents the biggest effort to fight climate change in U.S. history with a plan to cut emissions by 40% by 2030.
If there’s an issue you want addressed, I want to figure out a solution. I hope you’ll find some time to take our survey and tell me what’s on your mind.
Your friend,
Dutch
