I'm at the state fair today -- one of my favorite events of the summer. It's been such a treat to see new faces and talk with supporters about everything from the best hot dog topping to the state of the race in Minnesota's 3rd District.

As we revel in the sunshine (and shelter from the occasional thunderstorm), it can feel like the midterms are miles away. I'm not trying to take away this summer glory, but the reality is, Election Day is right around the corner.

Before we know it, we'll be sending off our ballots or visiting our local polling place to make sure our vote is counted with the rest -- and the work we put in right now will ensure we win on November 8. With our official end-of-month deadline fast approaching, I've got to ask: Can you take a moment to contribute to our campaign?

If the Great Minnesota Get-Together teaches us anything, it's that we all have more in common than we think. Eating good food, bonding with loved ones, letting our inner child loose to play games -- there's a lot of good we're already sharing here in Minnesota, and I believe there's more to come.

We need more togetherness, more bipartisanship, more "people interests over special interests" in Washington, and I'm ready to give voice to those values.
