John,
Last week in the Senate Judiciary Committee, I questioned the Department of Justice’s Inspector General Michael Horowitz about his nonpartisan report on the FBI’s investigation into Russia’s interference in our 2016 elections. He made it clear that the Russia investigation was not influenced by political bias against President Trump, despite what the President may claim.
President Trump doesn’t want to admit the truth about the Russia investigation’s findings, but it is now even more clear that his conspiracy theories are nothing more than attempts to distract and confuse the public about what really happened in the 2016 election.
Russia should be sanctioned for their election sabotage, but President Trump is welcoming them to the White House with open arms. The Senate should be taking action to prevent Russian interference in our 2020 election, but Leader McConnell is standing in the way.
This is unacceptable, John. We need to speak out and fight back.
My best,
Dick Durbin
