John,
When Democrats talk to voters about Republican plans to destroy our Social Security system, it’s not enough to say we’re for the status quo. It’s important to present an affirmative plan for protecting and expanding our Social Security system.
No one has done more for this than Rep. John Larson of Connecticut, who has enlisted more than 200 members of the House as original co-sponsors of the Social Security 2100 Act, which expands benefits for current and future retirees while strengthening the program’s long-term financing.
Split a donation between Social Security Works and Rep. Larson’s re-election today!
Republicans are trying to take over Congress by promising to voters that they’ll destroy Social Security and Medicare. That’s what Mitch McConnell himself1 says of a plan by his hand-picked lieutenant, Medicare fraudster-turned-Senator Rick Scott.2
Senator Scott’s plan has been endorsed by a wide swath of Republican Senators, both those running for re-election (Florida’s Marco Rubio and Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson)and the ones trying to win seats for the first time (Ohio’s J.D. Vance and New Jersey’s Pennsylvania’s Dr. Oz).
And Rick Scott’s isn’t the only plan to end Social Security and Medicare on the ballot. Arizona hedge funder-turned-Senate candidate Blake Masters has called for the full privatization of our Social Security system, so that his former colleagues on Wall Street can extract exorbitant fees to gamble our retirement on the stock market.
When voters compare Democrats to Republicans on Social Security, the choice is clear. Democrats want to EXPAND Social Security, while Republicans want to destroy it! Split a donation between Social Security Works and Social Security champion John Larson today!
Thanks,
