Are the wild plant ingredients in your everyday cosmetics, food, and medicine harming the environment? A new report found that 12 ingredients commonly found in products like lotion, perfume, and even soda may be harvested in ways that damage the environment and exploit harvesters. Some of these plants (like those seen in the image above) are vulnerable to extinction and are harvested unsustainably, and evidence of modern slavery, child labor, and poverty have been found in their supply chains.
