August is historically a slow time for campaign fundraising, and it’s
really beginning to show in our campaign budget. We still need 3,432
contributions of any amount before midnight, Wednesday, August 31 to hit

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that running for Congress is expensive.
It requires long hours, tons of people-power, and stretching every dollar
as far as it can go. We pride ourselves on being a scrappy, resourceful
team who can make big waves with just a little elbow grease — but we can’t
make money fall out of thin air (or take a big corporate check over
lunch).

Summer is determined to run our campaign the right way, beholden to no one
but our supporters, which is why since the beginning she’s refused to take
super PAC donations. Like any good leader, she demands integrity and
accountability in every move we make as a campaign.
