We're thrilled to announce that three of Washington’s champions will join us!
Dear John, Washington Environmental Council (WEC) and Washington Conservation Voters (WCV) are teaming up Friday, October 14, to host UNITE: an evening with WEC and WCV. We’re welcoming guests both in-person and virtually. Join us in the way that’s best for you!
Friday, October 14, 2022
In-Person at Westin Seattle | 5-8pm
Virtual Program | 7-8pm
We also are thrilled to announce that three of Washington’s champions will join for a moderated discussion during this evening of fellowship and reflection.
- Representative Derek Kilmer, US Representative 6th District, established the Puget Sound Recovery Caucus, which seeks to prevent pollution, and to protect and restore habitat. Rep. Kilmer also pushes for legislation to address ocean acidification and climate change.
Kristin Ang, as a Port of Tacoma Commissioner, fights for economic justice and leads industry discussions of how to reduce carbon emissions created by our systems of transportation and trade systems. Temryss Xeli’tia Lane, from the Golden Eagle Clan of the Lummi nation, is Director of the Indian Country Team at Pyramid Communications, a Seattle public relations and strategy firm. She works to uplift the voices of indigenous peoples and healing through storytelling. “Truth has always been told through Mother Earth,” she says.
These
leaders will join us for a conversation about the challenges that face our communities, our environment, and our democracy. They’ll discuss the positive impact that strong environmental justice policy has on the health and safety of our communities, and explain why it’s critical to have the right people in office to pass meaningful policies! Come and be part of this evening dedicated to creating the Washington that we all deserve today, and for generations to come. Please join us!
Together, let's unite to ensure healthy futures for all Washingtonians and the environment!
Please note, Washington Conservation Voters (WCV) is the event host. Ticket purchases and contributions to WCV are not tax-deductible.
