Governor Holcomb is celebrating “progress” on his trip to Asia, John!

"I couldn’t be more energized to spend this week building new relationships,
reinforcing long-time ones and strengthening key sector partnerships with
Taiwan and South Korea.”

– Governor Eric Holcomb

John,

Last week, Governor Holcomb and Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers led a
delegation of Hoosier ambassadors to Asia, kicking off the tour with a stop in
Taiwan before heading to South Korea.

In Taiwan, the Governor and his delegation’s meetings with officials were very
fruitful.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed that will strengthen economic ties
between Indiana and Taiwan and cultivate semiconductor supply chains.

In an interview with Inside Indiana Business’ Gerry Dick, Governor Holcomb
shared why Taiwan wants to invest in our state, of all places:

“They love the ecosystem [that’s] developing … They love that it is a
ginormous magnet for talent, and so as the world I hope shifts or tilts toward
Indiana…this could be a big boost to Hanover and Trine and Indiana University
and, you know, all of our schools that offer engineering degrees because we
need them all. And we need a lot more of them.”

The Governor’s delegation also had a productive time visiting South Korea,
meeting up with Purdue University President-elect Mung Chiang, where they
strengthened existing and future opportunities for investment in future-focused
industries.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with our discussions in Seoul this week,
reaffirming the strong economic and cultural partnerships between Indiana and
South Korea,” said Gov. Holcomb. “I’m confident that the relationships we
created and deepened this week will lead to even more innovation, investment
and a focus to develop better two-way trade between Indiana and South Korea.”

John, even in countries as far away as South Korea and Taiwan, people believe
in Indiana’s economic future…and they should!

Together, we’re taking our state to new heights and Building One Indiana for
All!

Thanks for your support, John.
