Join the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Community Action Committee for our Nonprofit Forum which will discuss how belonging is the lens through which we should view our diversity, equity, and inclusion work. The panel will include Vince Brantley, President, Co-Owner, and CTO, of Veritas Culture, Elizabeth Jones Valderrama, Executive Director of OAR of Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church, Betsy Frantz, President & CEO of PathForward. The event will be moderated by Samia Byrd, Deputy County Manager, Chief Race and Equity Officer at the Arlington County Manager's Office. REGISTER Registration closes Tuesday, August 30.   Black Business Grant Program The Coalition to Back Black Businesses (CBBB) is now accepting applications for its 2022-23 grant program. From now until September 6, the CBBB is taking applications for their third cohort of $5,000 grants for 272 Black-owned small businesses. These grants will help meet critical needs and invest in long-term growth. The CBBB also provides resources such as one-on-one mentorship and training for small businesses. Here are the six Arlington zip codes that qualify for this grant: 22204 22202 22203 22209 22211 GRANT APPLICATION   Early Childhood Financial Resiliency Accelerator Program This Arlington Chamber and 20 Degrees program focuses on teaching child care providers in Arlington the business and financial skills necessary to maintain and grow their businesses. The results from our first cohort show that when providers feel more connected, empowered, and informed about managing their business, they are more effective educators of young children and support for families. ​ The 2022 cohort is available at no cost to the participants thanks to presenting sponsor Amazon, and participants will receive a stipend made possible through support from Arlington Economic Development Bizlaunch. Attendees will receive six hours of live group instruction over three weeks, which will start on October 4. This program is open to home-based providers in Arlington County.
