On a seemingly normal Thursday morning, Hillsborough County State Attorney Andrew Warren went into his office for work — even though it was a difficult personal day he normally took off to be with his family (check out the video below to learn why...) — because he was announcing that he had charged a perpetrator, solving a 30-year-old cold case of a rape and murder right here in Tampa. That was when he got the news the Governor would be suspending him from his position that he was elected to fulfill... but not for doing anything wrong, not for not doing his job — he was removed because the Governor didn't like something that Andrew said. Andrew is our twice-elected State Attorney in Hillsborough County. The voters of Hillsborough County chose him, twice, by a large margin.

I believe that the rule of law and the democratic process are sacred, and our core American values mean NOTHING if we don’t fight to defend them.

Now, here's the thing. Like me, Andrew isn't wealthy, he doesn't have an army of state-funded lawyers in his kitchen cabinet... he's a private citizen, fired for simply doing the right thing.

So, I'm asking for your help. Andrew needs help funding his legal defense. He’s not currently running a campaign, and there are no big-money donors lining up to dump money into his account – which is why he needs US.

Can you chip in a few bucks to his legal defense fund to help us support law enforcement in Hillsborough County and defend our democracy?

It's up to us to help him fight back against this blatant abuse of power, and we're going to give it everything we've got. Are you with us?
