In a moment, I'm going to ask you to make a donation to my friend Maggie Hassan's reelection campaign. But first, I wanted to take a moment to explain why it's so important that we help Maggie defend this critical seat.

In 2016, Maggie won her race by only 1,017 votes – less than half a percentage point. Now, she's running for reelection in one of the toughest Senate races in the country. 

Mitch McConnell and his dark-money allies are spending over $25 million attacking her, and recent polling shows her down by 2 points to an extreme, anti-choice Republican.

Losing Maggie means losing the Senate majority and, with it, all of the hard-won progress Democrats have made over the past two years.  

That's not something our democracy can afford.

But knowing the margins of Maggie's last race and the tens of millions that GOP dark-money groups are spending against her, winning this seat is not guaranteed. It's going to take an army of grassroots supporters to protect this seat and continue moving our country forward.
