Over the years, I’ve held jobs that your typical member of Congress hasn’t — like a cashier, a nutrition educator, an organizer, and more.

I’m fluent in many of the struggles people face today because I’ve experienced them firsthand. I was a first-generation college student with young children, burdened with student loan debt. I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck and not know when I’ll next have access to food or running water.

That’s why I fight every day for bold, progressive change that will transform lives and livelihoods. We need to deliver on the priorities that our communities are depending on — instead of doing the bidding of corporations.

So I decided a long time ago that I will only answer to you — not the corporations that want to stop our progress — and reject all corporate PAC donations.

But that means I count on grassroots donations to stay in Congress to keep fighting for our shared progressive values — and we’re falling behind on our goal.
