You’ve heard this one before, John.

In this email, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to help flip California’s 8th district. But I want to explain why December is our most important fundraising month yet -- and why your contribution matters now more than ever.

There’s a lot in our favor in this race: Voter registration stats show that we have a shot at flipping this district. For the first time, the number of registered Democrats in CA-08 is closing in on the number of Republicans. In 2018, we saw districts like ours flip across California, and 2020 presents our best chance to do that once again.

But we have a lot of work ahead of us before we make that a reality. And there’s also a lot working against us: namely, the deep pockets of our Republican opponents and their establishment backers.

At the end of this month, we’ll submit our final quarterly fundraising numbers of the year. Quite frankly, the amount of resources we collect this month will determine how this race ultimately shapes up, and whether or not we can overcome our opponents’ spending.
