Friend,

Seven years ago, a gunman in Connecticut shot and killed 20 young children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Ater that terrible day, many Americans made a vow: never again would we allow another mass shooting.

Since December 14, 2012, there have been 2,319 mass shootings.

Sign our petition to say: no more. No longer will our children's lives be put in danger by the greed and negligence of the National Rifle Association. [[link removed]]

Seven years ago, 20 innocent children left home for school in the morning and never came back. Seven years later, we continue to fight.

Life-saving measures such as background checks, red flag bills, safe storage and assault weapons bans have the overwhelming support of voters here in Maine and across the country. It’s time our elected officials stop playing politics and start leading on this issue.

Our current elected officials refuse to do so. Rather than vote to save American lives, Mitch McConnell has instead left common sense gun reform bills on his desk to gather dust. This is unacceptable.

Sandy Hook will never be forgotten. Sign our petition to support common sense gun reform now. [[link removed]]

Let’s focus on the values we share, like keeping our children and families safe.

In Solidarity,

Betsy
