We will overcome.
John,
On Thursday, the most extreme abortion ban in America went into effect across Texas.
Greg Abbott’s dangerous law bans abortions beginning at conception. It has no exception for rape or incest. And a full 82% of Texans oppose it.
But it’s now the law of the land in Texas, John — because of Greg Abbott. Not only did Abbott choose to enact this extreme abortion ban, he is proud of what he’s done to attack the freedom, health, and lives of Texas women.
We must act now to defeat him and to restore the freedom of Texas women to make their own decisions about their own body, health care, and future.
We will stop Greg Abbott, elect Beto O'Rourke, and restore the right to choose in Texas. But it’s going to take unprecedented political activism from all of us, so please, will you join me in this fight by pitching in your first donation right now?

If you are furious, you are not alone.
Texans of every political background — Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and first-time voters — are showing up and getting involved in this election because of the extreme stakes.
But there are still millions of Texans who need to hear about Greg Abbott’s cruelty and failure to listen to the people of Texas. That’s why Beto’s campaign just launched our first statewide ad — to hold Abbott fully accountable for his extreme abortion ban.
This is a people-powered campaign, and I know there are enough of us to rise up, fight for our reproductive rights, and elect a pro-choice governor. As my mom and former Governor of Texas, Ann Richards, would say, I hear America singing.
But we won’t be able to defeat Abbott’s extreme attacks on Texas women without a historic grassroots effort to reach voters in all 254 counties of this state. Please donate anything you can today, John. Greg Abbott has got to go.
This is a dark day in Texas. But I believe with my whole heart that if we come together and put everything we have, including some dollars, into this fight — we will win.
In solidarity,
Cecile
