Dear John,

Every day, there are pregnant women and men actively seeking information on abortion. Lost in crisis, shame, and fear, they pursue abortion thinking they have no other choice. Yet what they really need is the support of others—someone to stand in the gap with them, loving and serving them.

I know this to be true because it’s my story. Twenty-six years ago, before my wife and I were married, we got pregnant and ended up in Planned Parenthood where we aborted our first child. Despite going into ministry and serving over the next 20 years, it was a decision that weighed on us almost daily.

As I look back, the thing that I will never forget, is that my wife wanted and needed me to fight for her and our preborn child. Every woman wants that. They want to know they are beautiful and worthy of love and care. They wonder if their husband, father, or someone else is going to stand in the gap for them and be there when they need them most.

Though God has been so gracious to heal our family, my wife and I would never want another woman or couple to experience the pain that abortion causes. In helping to start Human Coalition, God has redeemed our story, and we now have the privilege of standing in the gap for hurting women so that the most vulnerable among us are rescued from abortion.

Thanks to generous donors and advocates like you, over 14,726 children have been rescued from abortion since 2010. This year alone, over 3,789 children have been rescued. That’s 3,789 women and families who YOU have cared for and served!

Because of the help of supporters like you, families like “Darlene’s” (whose video Shannon Cagnina shared with you a couple days ago) are making memories this Christmas with their children. They are singing Christmas carols, baking cookies, and making Christmas wish lists together.

But for many women, that is not the case. Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider, has an annual budget of over $1.6 billion and is deeply embedded in our government, our schools, and even our churches.
