We’ve sent a number of fundraising emails ahead of this August fundraising drive. We hope you’ll take that as a sign of just how important this drive is.

But you deserve to know more. Give us a chance to explain:

As you read this, Mandela Barnes is getting pummeled with attack ads from outside groups. Millions of dollars are pouring into Wisconsin to defeat us. That should come as no surprise.

What you may not know is that almost all of the donations Mandela receives to win this race come from people chipping in small amounts. He’s very proud of that fact. Humbled, even.

And like any good campaign, we have fundraising goals we need to reach in order to win. Big ones, especially because of that outside spending.

These goals are NOT arbitrary. If we don’t hit them, we won’t have the resources we need to win.

But because most of the donations we receive come from emails like this, it means we have to ask. And since we are still short of our August fundraising goals, today is one of those days:
