Here’s some good news we all need ✊✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

Dear John,

This year has been a whirlwind. We have faced attacks on our reproductive freedom, attempts to undermine Title IX, assaults on low-income families, and an unassailable wage gap.

Often, it feels like progress is impossible, but here’s the thing: it isn’t. Together, we are a force to be reckoned with. This past year is proof of that.

Today, I’m writing because I have some good news (yes, good news!). We’ve won important courtroom victories against the Trump administration and are continuing to work to secure critical protections that tangibly impact the lives of women and girls across the nation for the better.

Here’s a look at some of our recent, groundbreaking legal fights:

✅ We protected over 172 million women, girls, and LGBTQ individuals from potential discrimination in the health care system by defeating Trump’s Refusal of Care Rule. Read more >>

✅ We secured a huge equal pay win for future generations by blocking the administration from illegally cutting an equal pay initiative. Read more >>

✅ We are fighting to protect access to birth control in our ongoing suit against the administration and its unlawful settlement with the University of Notre Dame to deny students and employees federally guaranteed contraceptive coverage. Read more >>

John, it’s an impressive list — but it doesn’t stop there. This year, we also launched the Abortion Rights Project in response to the unprecedented state-level attacks and bans on abortion… we represented Walmart employees in a pregnancy discrimination class action lawsuit that pressured Walmart to change its pregnancy accommodations policy… we sued school systems across the country that punished girls who reported sexual assaults… and so, SO much more.

And we were able to do it because of you. As an NWLC supporter, it’s likely you’ve signed a petition, contacted your elected officials, donated, or done all of the above. No matter what your support has looked like, having you behind us has been integral to our success every step of the way.

On behalf of everyone at NWLC, thank you for being such a strong champion of our work. I know there will be many challenges ahead for our movement in 2020, but I look forward to facing them arm-in-arm with you.

In solidarity — and happy holidays,
