Energy bills are rising by 80% in October. The price cap that was introduced on Friday is not good enough and only shows us how broken our energy system really is. 

Because even though we are in the midst of the worst cost of living crisis in decades which will force people to choose between heating and eating, the government continues to accelerate climate breakdown by investing in fossil fuels.

The Green Party is the only party with the joined up solutions to these crises. We support:

✅Cutting energy bills back to 2021 levels – savings per household of £2000 a year

✅Bringing the 5 big energy companies back into public hands

✅Closing loopholes in the windfall tax on fossil fuel companies and making energy efficiency the priority
