These values guided her work, first as a public defender and judge, then as the first African American woman to serve as Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Now, she's neck-and-neck in the race for North Carolina's open Senate seat, and a new poll shows her tied with her Republican opponent. Winning North Carolina's seat this November is critical, not just to expand our Senate majority, but because we need Cheri Beasley's voice in Washington.
