Dear Friend, Ruth’s List Florida is honored to announce the endorsement of former Ruth’s List Board Member Karla Hernandez for Lieutenant Governor. If elected, Karla would make history as our state’s first Democratic woman Lieutenant Governor.
Born and raised in Miami, Hernandez is a first generation Honduran. She has been president of the United Teachers of Dade since 2016. A former middle school teacher, Karla worked for more than a decade teaching children with special needs, and during her tenure was named the district’s Teacher of the Year. With issues like education and abortion at the forefront of this election, Karla is uniquely suited to to be our next Lieutenant Governor.
