John,

I don’t like to beg for donations or use scare tactics like “the sky is falling” when I ask for your support (that’s just not my style). You’re as much a part of this team as the staff here at headquarters and the work it takes to defend this seat and our slim Senate majority is deeply personal.

This grassroots team is made up of staff members, generous grassroots donors, and loyal supporters and we’re all here for the same reasons:

* We believe that every child should have a fighting chance, no matter where they grow up.

* We know that climate change is an urgent threat to our way of life and that we have the power to fight it.

* We believe health care should be affordable and no one should be one illness away from losing all they’ve worked for.

* We believe we should leave our democracy stronger for the next generation.

* And we understand why I refuse to accept that our economy and democracy are too broken to fix and I always put Colorado first over partisan games.

John, this campaign is about building on my progress on the issues this team cares about the most. We don’t need to use scare tactics when the reality of Mitch McConnell leading the Senate into a legislative graveyard is still a recent memory.

Your support today helps fund the rapid response efforts we’ll need to set the record straight on my work, hire and train staff, talk to voters, and so much more.

Please split a contribution of $5 — or what works for your budget — between my campaign and Senator Durbin’s and help us keep building on the progress we’ve made for families in Colorado and nationwide.
