Dear Friend,
LCV is thrilled to launch our 2022 GreenRoots program to mobilize our members to volunteer for climate and environmental justice champions.
Together, our movement will ensure that we have true pro-environment majorities in Congress next year.
Now more than ever, we need to elect leaders who will fight for healthy communities and stand up against corporate polluters and their profits. To do that, we plan to mobilize LCV members to volunteer with the campaigns of LCV Action Fund-endorsed candidates and
contact hundreds of thousands of voters through door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and letter and postcard writing.
The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act — the single-largest investment in climate action in our history — proves once again that
elections have consequences. That's why we're planning for this to be our biggest grassroots mobilization effort yet.
LCV and our members are all in to win this November.
LCV will have organizers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. And, for the first time ever, our members will also volunteer virtually across the remaining 35 states!
Climate and clean energy issues are poised to play a major role in this election cycle. Candidates across the country are making climate, clean energy and the environment a central part of their argument to voters.
Poll after poll has shown that voters want their elected officials to take action on climate and environmental justice.
As we continue to fight to build a just and equitable clean energy future, we know that the still-too-powerful fossil fuel industry will also be working hard to elect candidates who will fight for dangerous policies that put our communities at risk in order to protect record profits.
The work of LCV's members to elect true climate and environmental justice champions has never been more important, and there is clear momentum for pro-environment candidates as we enter the final months of this election cycle.
Sincerely,
Jennessa Agnew
