Abraham Lincoln is known to history as a master of wielding humor, wit, and wisdom to cut through the nastier elements of American politics. In fact, he termed the time he spent receiving members of the public in his White House office to be: “public opinion baths.”

To this day, there is nothing more important for elected leaders than to keep in touch with the thoughts, feelings, and opinions of the people they serve—even if Ann Wagner hasn’t done it for over ten years.

So, in that spirit, I offer for your entertainment, edification, and esteem a public opinion bath of sorts: a reading of some comments to, and about, yours truly.

Please know that while some of these comments are humorous, and laughing at oneself is an important skill, I take the opinions of my constituents very seriously. As this campaign moves forward, please continue to share your thoughts, feelings, and stories (both kind and…interesting) with me.

Understanding the people I wish to serve makes me a better candidate and more responsive representative, or as Lincoln said, it is “renovating and invigorating to my perceptions of responsibility and duty.”
