Last month, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Women's
Health Protection Act-a federal law that would protect abortion
nationwide. In Nepal and the Philippines, the Center for Reproductive
Rights coordinated and participated in workshops designed to advance
knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among
judicial officers and youth advocates. And lastly, a new report shows
COVID-19's impact on reproductive health care access in Burkina Faso,
Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, and Uganda.

U.S. House of Representatives passes WHPA once again
[link removed]

If enacted, the bill would protect the right to access abortion across
the country, despite the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling overturning Roe
v. Wade, which abandoned almost 50 years of legal precedent protecting
abortion rights.

Sub-Saharan Africa. A new study by the Center and its partners
examines the impact of the pandemic in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya,
Malawi, and Uganda. The report reveals that low-income communities
have faced multiple barriers in accessing reproductive health care and
outlines recommendations for governments to improve access to SRHR
services.
