Trust me, folks, fundraising definitely isn’t my favorite part of this job. I know I sound like a broken record sometimes when I talk about our deadlines and monthly goals.

But unfortunately, running for office demands resources. Especially now that we're a few weeks out from the final end-of-quarter FEC deadline before November.

So while I’d rather be talking to you about legislative wins and finding solutions for our most pressing issues, I need to talk to you about why your support will matter so much in these upcoming months.

1. This is one of the top battleground races in the entire country. To keep our Democratic majority, we must keep IL-06 blue. That’s why Republicans will spare no expense in propping up my radical GOP opponent.

2. The GOP wants to send me home and shut me up. You see, calling Republicans out for their hypocrisy and making progress on the issues that matter most has put a target on my back.

3. This election will have profound, lasting effects for decades to come. Our future on this planet depends on keeping climate deniers far from the halls of power. And if we lose our pro-democracy majority in Congress, the far right will continue to dismantle our democracy piece by piece. This election matters – a lot.
