Hi,

Democrats in Congress are ringing alarm bells about Republican plans to
“take a chainsaw to” Social Security.^1

This isn’t an idle threat. Senators Rick Scott, Ron Johnson and Rand Paul
have all proposed plans to gut Social Security. Thankfully there’s a bill
in Congress called the Social Security 2100 Act that will not only expand
benefits but protect the future of Social Security.

Congress needs to act NOW to pass it.

Republicans aren’t shy about their intentions to gut Social Security. In
fact, they’ve developed a broad range of plans to bring down one of the
most successful (and popular!) government programs in our nation’s
history. Whether it’s through privatization, gutting payroll taxes or
adding sunset provisions to all federal programs, make no mistake:
Republicans will attack Social Security at the earliest opportunity.

That’s why it’s critical Congress pass Social Security 2100 when we have a
Democratic majority. Not only will it expand benefits to keep millions of
families out of poverty, Social Security 2100 will make sure Social
Security is fully funded for the next 75 years.^2

Millions of families depend on Social Security benefits. Action can’t
wait. Congress needs to pass Social Security 2100.
