Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter Have questions? Contact Me Here Special Edition: Share Your Feedback In last week's edition of my weekly newsletter, I took the opportunity to highlight some of my work in Congress since the beginning of the year. As always, I am laser focused on providing compassionate, principled, and transparent representation to every individual across New York's 22nd Congressional District. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read the updates! This week, I want to hear from you! Below are a few questions on some of the most important issues facing our country today, and I want to know what you think. I hope you will take just a few minutes this weekend to answer these questions. If you have any additional comments you would like to share, please respond directly to this email or visit my website here. It is an honor to serve you! Question #1: President Biden's Job Performance We are now more than a year and a half into Joe Biden's presidency. I have expressed serious concern with President Biden's performance. From his out-of-control spending and failure to address the crisis at our Southern Border to his Executive Orders destroying American energy production, President Biden's domestic policies have had catastrophic effects. On the international stage, his disastrous and deadly withdrawal of our troops from Afghanistan, failure to stand up to China and Russia, and continued appeasement of Iran have jeopardized our national security. For his grave failures in Afghanistan and at the Southern Border, I was among the first to call for Joe Biden's impeachment. But I want to know what you think about President Biden's performance. Do you approve of the job Joe Biden is doing as President? Yes Select No Select Unsure Select Question #2: Impacts of Rising Inflation Every day, I receive emails and phone calls from constituents across Upstate who are worried about soaring inflation. With inflation at a near 40-year-high of 8.5%, the cost of living continues to rise, and many are struggling to make ends meet. This includes seniors on fixed incomes and working families. It is heartbreaking for me to hear about, and see firsthand, the struggles of many across our communities. That's why I have opposed Democrats' out-of-control spending, which is a direct cause of inflation. I am fighting every day for policies to restore opportunity and prosperity to upstate New York. Have you or your family been negatively impacted by inflation and rising costs? Yes Select No Select Unsure Select Question #3: The FBI's Raid on President Trump's Home The FBI recently raided President Trump's residence at Mar-a-Lago in what I fear amounts to an unprecedented and deeply troubling weaponization of the Department of Justice and federal agencies. Following the raid, I immediately called for Attorney General Merrick Garland to provide answers and transparency directly to the American people. In the United States, the rule of law must always prevail and we should never have a two-tiered system of justice that distinguishes between those in power and their political opponents. Are you concerned about the political weaponization of the Department of Justice? Yes Select No Select Unsure Select Question #4: Biden's Student Loan Debt "Cancellation" President Biden announced this week that he would be moving forward with a plan to "cancel" up to $20,000 in student loan debt for individuals making $125,000 or less and for married couples making $250,000 or less. Did you know that 87% of Americans do not have any federal student loan debt? Biden's policy is inflationary, illegal, and unfair. It completely fails to address any of the core drivers of higher education costs and many experts on both sides of the aisle agree that it is likely to contribute to even higher costs. The fact is, President Biden does not have the authority to order this relief - only Congress does - and those Americans who have paid down their debts or who chose not to go to college should not be stuck paying the debts of those who did. Do you support Biden's student loan debt "cancellation" plan? Yes Select No Select Unsure Select Question #5: Crime and Threats to Public Safety Over the past two years, law enforcement officers have been attacked by far-left politicians and activists, and harmful policies in Albany have made it harder than ever for them to do their jobs. For example, New York's misguided and dangerous bail reform law has caused violent and dangerous criminals to be released right back out onto the street. I have called on Governor Hochul to work with the state legislature to repeal the disastrous bail reform law and to create a dangerousness standard, which would allow judges to keep dangerous criminals behind bars and prevent them from reoffending, as many have done. I am continuing to fight for policies in Congress that deliver greater resources to police officers and safeguard the rights of Americans to protect themselves. Do you support repealing New York's bail reform law? Yes Select No Select Unsure Select Have news or updates to share? Email me!
