"How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues."
- Psalm 31:19-20
Africa & Europe
Pray for the recruitment of mission-critical staff in Uganda. Specifically, we are praying for the right individuals to lead IJM Uganda’s Advocacy and Community Engagement. This is critical to the success of the program, because often it is community perceptions and beliefs that hold women back from reporting instances of violence, and that empower perpetrators to abuse women and children without expectation of accountability.
Latin America
Please pray for safety and health for our staff, partners and the survivors we serve. In the past months, Covid numbers have again increased in Guatemala. Although numbers are not as high as at the beginning of the pandemic, this wave could have implications in the open cases that our partners are taking to court, delaying justice.
South Asia
Pray for our relationships with key government agencies that have recently changed or transferred staff. We are always happy to see strong leaders get promoted or positioned in important roles, but this can also disrupt the momentum we are building in our programs. Pray our staff could build positive relationships with their new points of contact in the police, judiciary, and government so we can keep collaborating to protect people from trafficking.
Asia Pacific
Please pray for preparations for the upcoming Advanced Investigative Workshop on September 4-6, 2022. This training will train our local law enforcement partners to help them learn the best techniques in investigations. This event is a collaborative effort with the Australian Federal Police and the National Police of the Netherlands.
IJM Global Office & Partners
IJM global office is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Pray for our teams at IJM as they continue their work amid economic and social uncertainties, may they find ways to continue operating in their work, and serving their families and communities. Lord, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them,
please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
