When we use words like “grassroots” and “small dollar” to describe our movement, we mean it.

We don’t rely on donations of $2,900 (the maximum amount a donor can give a federal campaign). Ilhan would rather work hard to get thousands of donations of $5, $10, and $25 at a time from supporters like you than call up a handful of big donors to meet our fundraising goals.

That’s because she answers to you, and only you — not corporate PACs and their billionaire funders. But that means we have to work way harder than the typical campaign to bring in support. Ilhan’s conservative opponent had an edge in the final days of our primary because a right-wing super PAC stepped in with $625,000 to give him a last-minute boost. And it almost worked.

It’s because of people like you who believe in our shared progressive vision that we overcame that massive outside spending and won.

But our work isn’t over. Our Republican opponent has raised more than $2 million against us. After our narrow primary win, GOP super PACs will undoubtedly spare no expense to try to undermine our movement and our work to re-elect Ilhan and elect progressives at every level of government.

When turnout is high, progressives win. Your support will ensure we have the resources to reach voters where they’re at, counter any GOP spending, and send Ilhan back to Congress. Can you chip in any amount toward our end-of-month goal to power our work?
