My Small Reality

By Beau Beausoleil

Someone on
the radio says
that after
100 days
the war
in Ukraine
“has become
boring to some”

It is
summer

I am
in our
garden
where
I can
hear
the far
far away

I listen to
unseen
birds offering
a deep mournful
call

There is
more beauty
and fear
in this
world
than I can
comprehend

Beau Beausoleil is a poet and activist (Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here) based in San Francisco, California.
