Since they stepped foot in Congress, the Squad – a bold, progressive, and diverse group of women representatives: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib – has received non-stop hate from the right.

Now, the GOP’s taking a weird and twisted new approach to attack them: forming their own “Squad.”

That’s right. A group of four Republican House candidates – all white women – debuted on Fox News as the “conservative Squad” ready to take on “socialism.”

As Ilhan Omar tweeted, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Well these “imitators” aren’t fooling anyone!

These conservative women claim that the Democratic party has taken a “sharp-left turn under the influence of the socialist squad. This is socialism versus American values,” and that “Congress is run by extremists” and “Do-Nothing Democrats.”

We know the truth: our Squad has advanced our shared progressive values by introducing and supporting groundbreaking legislation like the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage, and so much more to lift up our communities and actually help them, not throw them under the bus for corporate special interests and the wealthiest few.

If we’re going to hold onto the Democratic House Majority and continue to advance our progressive agenda, we MUST protect the Squad at all costs.
