First, I have some good news: A new Los Angeles Times poll shows Karen is in the lead!

But, here's the bad news: Rick Caruso just funneled $3.5 million of his own personal funds into his campaign to try and buy this race. This means he's officially given up to $45 MILLION to his own campaign.

Unlike Caruso, the overwhelming majority of contributions to our campaign come from emails just like this one. Every dollar we raise goes directly toward electing Karen as mayor of Los Angeles.

But, something strange is happening. Our finance team says fundraising has slowed down compared to last month. We're seeing fewer donations, and even fewer people are responding to messages like this one.

I'm not surprised to hear this. I don't want to say the sky will fall if we come up short of our end-of-month goal because it won't. We knew a summer slump was coming because it always does. But missing a goal after Caruso just bankrolled his campaign puts us at a dangerous disadvantage.

We can't let that happen, and that's why I'm asking for your help today.

I would really appreciate it if you could rush a donation of any amount toward our August fundraising goal ahead of the end-of-month deadline. Every dollar allows us to build a campaign strong enough to fight back against Caruso's spending and elect Karen as mayor in November.
