Dear Comrade,

On Saturday, August 27th we will be downtown at the Akron Pride Festival! We will start the day as part of the Equity March, which steps off at 10 a.m. near Spaghetti Warehouse and heads down S. Main Street before ending at Lock 3.

We are also a table vendor for the event, and we'll be there from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Come visit us at vendor booth 141 near Bowery and High Street! Be sure to wear any Pride gear you might have. You can always purchase our new Pride chapter shirt here. If you live nearby, you can arrange for local pickup or drop off to save on shipping, including picking up from our table tomorrow.

Given the history of Pride and that the LGBTQ+ community continues to be at a higher risk of police profiling and brutality, we do not feel that cops belong at Pride. We have been in contact with the organizers of Akron Pride and expressed our concerns. Sadly, despite their statement of solidarity with the black community, there will be police at Akron Pride, and they will be recruiting. So come to our table for free stickers and a free No Cops at Pride button. We'd love to see as many people wearing these as possible.
