Time and time again, we’ve seen the Left place woke ideologies over data and evidence.
For too long, the Democrat stratagem has been to declare something as fact, be wrong about said “fact,” and then move the goalpost further down the field.
The Left has a different set of rules than the ones they impose on the rest of us. Their lockdowns, force-masking of children, and orders to choose between a job they need and a jab they don’t want did not apply to themselves, their children, or their families.
While these draconian rules were ruining people’s lives, Nancy Pelosi was getting her hair done in a salon she made sure was shut down for everyone else. Gavin Newsom was dining indoors at restaurants that were otherwise closed to the rest of the population.
They said school closures were necessary to mitigate the spread of COVID, and they were wrong about that. They said we had to force-mask kids when they knew it was wrong but speaking up would go against their narrative.
Prior to COVID, medical associations had material on their websites expressing the importance of facial cues to the development of young children. Once the masking craze hit, they took it all down.
They were willing to sacrifice the developmental and educational progress of children across the country to stick to their narrative. An entire generation’s futures were simply collateral damage in the quest to advance their ideological agenda.
That’s not right, and it’s certainly not the way we did things in Florida.
As Governor, I’ve said that our state is where woke goes to die and I MEANT it.
