#LowcountryFirst Pass In Review | August 26, 2022 A Week With You Good afternoon and happy Friday! It’s been a busy week across the Lowcountry, and we’ve enjoyed the many opportunities to connect with you all during the week. On Monday, we hosted Cocktails with Your Congresswoman at Fam’s Brewing on James Island. It was a stormy afternoon and we want to thank everyone who came out and met our team. We always enjoy the chance to connect with you directly. On Tuesday, our team met with MedTrust, a mobile healthcare provider. We took a tour of their impressive facility and learned about their specific needs and issues in the Lowcountry. We also discussed how they work to respond during natural disasters like hurricanes and floods in our area. It’s always important to have a plan and be prepared during hurricane season. On Wednesday, our team met with representatives from MUSC’s Nurse Family Partnership. It was truly inspiring to hear from them about the important work they do to help families and new mothers. Thanks for having us out to your facility. On Wednesday afternoon, the Administration announced a plan to force hard-working blue collar Americans to pay the college debts for doctors and lawyers. This plan will cost at least $300 billion and will surely exacerbate our existing inflation issues. It’s tragic to think of the millions of Americans who decided against going to college because of high costs & debt. Not only do they now have to pay the debts of others, but they also face the pains of the inflationary effects this move will be sure to have on their cost of living. This evening we are hosting Cocktails with Your Congresswoman on Johns Island at Charleston Distilling Co. We want to invite you and your family to join us at 5:00 pm to help kick off the weekend and get an update from DC. Don’t forget to RSVP here. See y’all there! Also, we want to invite you to a few events next week. On Wednesday, August 31st, we invite you and your family to join us for Cocktails With Your Congresswoman at The Boathouse at Breach Inlet on Isle of Palms at 5:00 pm. Don't forget to RSVP here! On Thursday we are hosting Cocktails with Your Congresswoman in Port Royal, SC at Shellring Ale Works at 4:00pm. Don’t forget to RSVP here! Our office is still in search of interns for the fall. If you are interested in joining our team in Charleston, Beaufort or Washington please fill out an application here. These are incredible opportunities to gain experience, learn about the legislative process, and learn more about public service! Are you living in the Lowcountry with an adorably cute dog? Every weekend, we highlight one District Dog on our social media platforms. Submit your dog here. As always, if you need us, call us. Whether you need help with a passport, issues with receiving your tax refund or the Veterans Administration, please reach out to our office if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time. It’s an immense honor to serve each and every one of you. Sincerely, Congresswoman Nancy Mace Visit My Website DISTRICT DOG OF THE WEEK District Dog 🐶This week's District Dog is Macy from Charleston.
