Update: Delivering for You

Dear Neighbor,

As we continue our work in community during August, I’d like to share a brief recap of what we’ve accomplished and delivered together for the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District.

Cancelling Student Debt

After years of organizing, we moved student debt cancellation from hushed dinner table conversations to the White House. Just this week, the Biden-Harris Administration announced a plan to cancel student debt that will impact 43 million people. Eligible borrowers can receive up to $20,000 in debt cancellation for Pell Grant recipients and up to $10,000 in debt cancellation for non-Pell Grant recipients.

We pressed for student debt cancellation on behalf of and in partnership with families in the Massachusetts 7th and across America—the Black and brown folks, the women, the students, the workers, the elderly, the parents, the teachers, the young people, and more—who have been devastated by this nearly $2 trillion crisis. I look forward to continuing to partner with the Administration to address the college affordability crisis head on.

Passing the Inflation Reduction Act

Earlier this month, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, advancing a number of policies that will help reduce costs for families, fight climate change, improve health care access, lower prescription drug costs, and more. I was proud to vote in support of this necessary and long-overdue bill to help provide relief for our communities amidst the layered, overlapping crises in the Massachusetts 7th and beyond.

I remain deeply committed to advancing critical measures currently blocked in the Senate to enact paid leave, housing justice, disability justice, immigration reform, environmental justice, universal pre-K, and more. We owe it to our workers and families to continue fighting for these necessary policies, and I intend to do just that.

Delivering $275K for Randolph Public Schools

In district, my team and I stopped by John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Randolph to deliver $275,000 in federal community project funding for culturally responsive resources and digital literacy tools for Randolph Public Schools. Students of all backgrounds – Black, brown, AAPI, Indigenous, disabled, LGBTQ+, and more – deserve to see themselves reflected in their school materials and should feel supported to develop digital literacy skills. Thank you to local leadership for their collaboration to make these critical resources a reality and help students thrive.

I am deeply grateful for your partnership and honored to stand alongside you as we develop bold policy and continue fighting for the relief our communities in the Massachusetts 7th need and deserve. As always, my team and I are ready to support you in any way we can, so please don't hesitate to give us a call at 617-850-0040 if we can be of assistance.

In service and solidarity,
