Dear John,

Today is Women's Equality Day - a tradition in which the nation commemorates the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920 guaranteeing white women the right to vote.
 

It's a moment to reflect on the many people who have demanded a better world despite the odds and to redouble our commitment to continuing the fight for equality ... for ALL women.

For many women of color, equality is not yet a reality. And with our voting and reproductive rights under attack, women today have fewer rights than we've had in decades.

That's why the National Partnership is joining with the League of Women Voters to observe Women's Inequality Day - and it's why the coalition ran a full-page print ad in The Washington Post today calling on our leaders to protect our freedoms. In short:

1. Congress must pass voting rights legislation.
2. The Equal Rights Amendment must be added to the Constitution.
3. Congress must restore reproductive freedoms for women and those who can become pregnant.
