Did you know that today is Women’s Equality Day? It should be a day to celebrate the work we’ve done towards gender equity and to recognize the work left to do – but today, I cannot stop thinking about the repeated Republican attacks on women’s rights in the past year, especially concerning abortion access. The most important thing we can do right now is re-elect pro-choice Democratic women to defend our basic rights, so can Senator Sarah Trone Garriott and I count on your support today?

Republicans across the country, including here in Iowa, are doing everything they can to completely ban abortion access with no exceptions. Some, like Republican Senate President Jake Chapman, even want to criminalize prescribing birth control.

We cannot have true equality until we have equal access to reproductive healthcare and are able to make our own private medical decisions without input from politicians. If you agree, please support me and my colleague Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott as we fight to stay in the Iowa Senate advocating for all Iowans.
