In the U.S., an estimated 16 million adults have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Your contribution of $1,000 will allow BREATHE LA to serve 40 individuals with lung health screenings across Southern California. I pledge to support lung health! In 2019, Los Angeles ranked as the nation's smoggiest metro area. With your contribution of $500 BREATHE LA can provide 20 Los Angeles County residents with education on clean vehicles and the dangers of diesel. I pledge to clean the air! E-cigarette use among middle and high school students is on the rise, jumping 48% between 2017-2018. With your contribution of $250, BREATHE LA can provide two community vaping prevention workshops - The Vaping Trend: Clearing the Air - to parents and educators in our region to help address the issue of vaping in their schools and homes. I pledge to end youth vaping! Nearly 200,000 children in Los Angeles County live with asthma. With a contribution of $100 BREATHE LA, through our Lung Power Program, can help one under-served family learn how to help their child properly manage this disease. I pledge to support a family with asthma education! Today, a total of 4.9% of middle school students—or 570,000 kids—are using e-cigarettes. Your contribution of $50 will provide two middle school students with tobacco and vaping prevention education through our FiRST! program. I pledge to help two students be the first to not smoke! Nationwide, there are about 6.2 million children under the age of 18 with asthma. With a contribution of $25, BREATHE LA can provide one student asthma and environmental literacy through our O24U® program. I pledge to help our youth live healthier more sustainable lives!
