I've worked in politics for nearly 15 years, and some of the most important work I've done has been as president of American Bridge, working to hold Republicans accountable.

We successfully shined a harsh light on cronyism and incompetence in the Trump administration, took back the Senate and removed Trump from the White House in 2020. I'm always eager to celebrate with you when we accomplish such huge goals like these.

But make no mistake – our work is far from over. In less than three months, voters across the country will cast their ballots for the 2022 midterm elections. I won't lie to you: We're facing an uphill battle. Republicans have been raising millions of dollars to take back the Senate and block any and all future progress under President Biden.

In the last few months alone, we have witnessed the abhorrent priorities of Republicans: They supported the overturning of Roe v. Wade and threatened to pass a national abortion ban, voted against codifying same-sex marriage into federal law and, most recently, they blocked a cap on insulin costs for millions of Americans.

Meanwhile, we are still grappling with the implications of the Jan. 6 committee's investigation as they unearth the criminal activity of Trump and his allies. 

American Bridge will continue to work around the clock to hold Republicans accountable for their actions – which means protecting our slim Democratic Senate majority and defeating Mitch McConnell's awful agenda.
