There’s still work to do.

Team,
Women’s Equality Day was first started to honor the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave some women the right to vote more than 100 years ago.
And while voting rights for all women didn’t come until much later, we should still pause to celebrate not only the right for women to vote, but their participation in the political process.
Arizona has always been a leader when it comes to electing women to office. For years, Arizona led the nation in the number of women elected to our state legislature. In fact, we’re still one of the top states for electing women, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
And this year will be no different. Five of the seven statewide candidates on the ballot for our party this year are women. And even more are running for the state legislature.
And we intend to get every single one of them elected.
So while recent news makes the name of today’s holiday feel a little hollow, we remain committed to women’s equality in politics – in voting rights, in getting women elected, and in passing legislation at all levels that brings more equality to Arizona.
Thanks for your help in this work.
