It’s an exciting time for elections reform!

The reform movement we’ve led for years to bring ranked choice voting (RCV) to the United States had a big year in 2019 due to the growing group of national and state reform partners dedicating their time to make this big change possible.

We had some of the biggest wins ever <[link removed]> with the adoption of RCV in New York City, extension of RCV to presidential elections in Maine and four presidential primaries to use RCV this coming spring. 

Congress is advancing RCV with smart bills that can pass in the short-term and visionary bills like the Ranked Choice Voting Act and Fair Representation Act that represent the future of American elections. 

We published more than 50 articles and commentaries that helped trigger major television stories and editorial support.

We first showed the video at our annual Champions of Democracy awards <[link removed]>. It was a wonderful gathering where we awarded leaders from across the country working hard to reform our elections. 

As we explain in our year-end letter to donors <[link removed]>, we have big plans for the new year as ranked choice voting takes off! In 2020, we'll be building a national program of volunteers to help with educating the public in their communities, reaching out to their Members of Congress, supporting state campaigns and signing people up to get involved.
