DEVELOPING… MARQUETTE POLL FINDS BARNES WITH LEAD OVER RON JOHNSON. 3X MATCH ACTIVE: help get environmental organizers on the ground today >>
Friend — We just received new polling data from our National Campaigns Director: in the race for Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate seat,
pro-environment candidate Mandela Barnes is now holding a slim lead over Senator Ron Johnson, the pro-polluter incumbent.
Johnson was one of the first candidates announced on LCV Victory Fund’s
Dirty Dozen list, which names twelve of the worst anti-environment candidates this election cycle — and Wisconsin is one of only a few opportunities to flip a Senate seat.
This November, we have only one shot to strengthen the number of pro-environment U.S. Senators and secure a strong pro-climate action majority —
and we really need your help to do it.
A group of donors who care deeply about maintaining pro-environment leadership in the U.S. Senate has agreed to triple-match every contribution through the end of the month — up to $25,000!
If we hit that goal, we’ll be able to devote urgently needed resources to the Wisconsin race, as well as close races in Georgia and Nevada, where Senators Raphael Warnock and Catherine Cortez Masto, respectively, are up against other Trump-backed members of the
Dirty Dozen.
Can I count on you to pitch in today?
Donate to LCV Victory Fund. It’s the best way to help pro-environment candidates in close races win — even $5 is enough to make a difference. Every contribution will be triple matched >>
I promise you, Friend — in each of these races, our support could make or break the outcome. We will lose if the environmental movement does not show up for pro-climate action candidates — and that will mean putting Mitch McConnell back in charge of the Senate.
But here’s how we win:
- Climate Voter mobilization – We’re running aggressive outreach campaigns in the months leading up to the election with a goal of reaching an audience of 2 million Climate Voters who we’ve identified as being less likely to vote in November. Research indicates these voters will be much more likely to show up if they hear from us directly on candidates’ work to address the climate crisis.
- Climate persuasion ads – We’re also planning to go big with television, digital, and other paid communications that target a broader set of voters and position climate, clean energy, and clean water as part of a winning political narrative this cycle. This will include ads that call out anti-environment candidates, especially those who oppose climate action and whose campaigns are funded and supported by oil and gas interests.
- A return to in-person field organizing – We are running an effective large-scale field program to reach voters, especially those with the highest likelihood of being disenfranchised or not voting in the midterms.
Innovative, on-the-ground organizing campaigns are going to decide this election -- but it takes early investment and significant time.
Friend, every dollar you give now will be put directly into the field to help secure more pro-environment seats in the U.S. Senate — a true pro-environment majority — and fight back against anti-environment, pro-polluter candidates who want to gut our environmental protections and sell our public lands to developers and miners.
Triple your impact, Friend. Help raise $50,000 before the end of the month — even $5 can help >>
We can do this. Let’s get to work.
