FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Skagit County has contracted with Specialized Pavement Marking, LLC for the Prairie Road Guidance Improvement Project. This project consists of guidance improvements along the curved sections of Prairie Road. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, August 29th, 2022, and continue through the second week of September.
Work will include: ? Installation of MMA Plastic Profiled paint ? Improved Chevron Curve Signing ? Additional Flexible Guide Posts with Reflectors
The Contractor will perform night work installing MMA Profiled Plastic Paint between 7:00PM and 6:00AM on Monday, August 29th and Tuesday, August 30th. Due to daytime road surface temperatures exceeding the manufacture?s specifications for applying the MMA material, this work will be performed at night. The Contractor will conduct a mobile work operation with a follow vehicle placing cones on the uncured MMA material.
Motorists should expect slight delays and should only pass the mobile work operation in clearly defined passing zones when conditions are safe. During the installation of Curve Signing and Flexible Guide Posts, the Contractor will utilize a flagger-controlled single-lane closure.
The County website will reflect project updates and can be found here: https://www.skagitcounty.net/Departments/PublicWorksEngineering/roadprojectsMAIN.htm
