I wanted to reach out and update you on what I've been working on in the Senate this past month.

We ended July by passing the CHIPS and Science bill in Congress. Investing in manufacturing and economic competitiveness will improve our national security, bring down costs on major purchases for working families, and strengthen economic outcomes for years to come. It was my honor to vote for this bill, and I'm proud to say that in August, it was signed into law by President Biden.

I've always believed that we have a sacred obligation to take care of those who have selflessly fought for our country, which is why I supported and voted for the PACT Act , the single biggest expansion of veterans care since WWII. This bill will help provide benefits to veterans who were exposed to toxic environments, including burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan. This piece of important legislation was also passed into law this month.

As the crisis in Ukraine continues, I'm excited to say that in the Senate we voted to ratify a treaty to admit Sweden and Finland into NATO . This accession will help us and our allies strengthen our collective security and fortify our response to the Russian threat.

Finally, after working for months alongside my colleagues, we were able to reach a consensus and pass the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Now, the Inflation Reduction Act has been signed by President Biden into law. Not only will this bill lower costs for American families, but it will stimulate our economy and provide the biggest investment in a generation to fight the climate crisis.

It's been a great month to make progress for the American people and our country, but it was only possible with the Democratic majority working alongside the Biden administration to strengthen our country. With the elections coming up in November, I'm working to protect our majority and keep fighting for your interests in Congress. But I need your help.
