John,
Donald Trump lashes out whenever he feels threatened, and we must look like a major threat because this week he came after us.
On Wednesday, after fighting in court for three years, we got the secret memo that former Attorney General Bill Barr used to undermine the Mueller report and to justify not charging Trump with obstruction.
Hours later, Trump set his sights on CREW.
First he thanked CREW for making the memo public—the same memo his administration fought to keep secret because of how bad it made them look—claiming he actually wanted people to see it. Trump then said that CREW must be “devastated by these findings,” as if the memo read like genuine legal analysis and not mere spin for Trump and Barr, and warned his supporters that CREW would be moving on to expose more of his scandals.
Make no mistake: Trump is afraid of CREW. He’s made it clear we’re one of his targets. But we’re not going to back down. We’re not afraid of him. We’re going to continue to fight for the truth, whatever it takes.
And that’s why we need your help. We don’t have Trump’s billions of dollars. If you want to make sure we can continue the fight against Trump’s lawlessness and corruption, please consider donating now. CREW’s work is only possible because of our supporters.
This week’s victory was truly a shared one, because we couldn’t have done it without everyone who supported us over the last few years. Please help us continue the fight.
Thank you,
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
